Thompson and SEAT Sport lead the world

Following the two Mexican rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, SEAT Sport has extended its lead in the Manufacturers' series, while James Thompson is the new leader of the Drivers' Championship.

The two races at the Puebla circuit saw Rickard Rydell claim another podium for the SEAT Sport team and a pair of 5th places elevated Thompson to the series lead.

Rickard Rydell's delight at securing his second pole position of the season was short-lived. The SEAT Sport team had to change Rickard's engine after the morning warm-up session, which meant that the Swede dropped 10 places and so started from 11th on the grid.

The race was then red-flagged after an accident involving the Chevrolet of Robert Huff and, following the restart, Rydell steadily picked his way through the field to finish in 8th place and so claim pole for Race 2.
