Champions (but things could have gone better for me...)!
The Macau weekend finished and an unlucky season with it. It is something that happens. At the end of the day I think that the highest point of the season was the New York marathon!
This weekend has been characterized by highs and lows: from the one side I am really satisfied by the fact that BMW won the constructors' title (thanks to BMW Team Italy-Spain too...) and that Andy Priaulx and Stefano d'Aste won the drivers' title and the Independents' one, but from the other side my Macau experience has not been a memorable one, despite being really fast yesterday in qualifying.
In race one I was right behind Priaulx and due to the classification situation I was keen to protect him from any attacks.
In race two I have been bumped at the beginning (but I already made the race fastest lap!) and I went into the escape route. In the heat of the moment I did not understand who I had to thank for that, but at the end of the race, while I was getting into the pits, I have seen a piece of my rear bumper stuck... well, I let you guess where (and whose car was that).
Talking about the race again, in the heat of the moment I probably selected the reverse too violently and this broke some gearing that shortly caused the damage of other gears as well, therefore I could not do anything else that getting back into the pits.
This said, I will shortly have a long flight that will take me home... Greetings and see you soon on the "forth and back"!
