Lada Sport Rosneft hopes to see the Dutch driver on podium at the team's home race.
Dutch driver Jaap Van Lagen will continue to drive the Lada Vesta TC1 car for the Lada Sport Rosneft team in the Race of Russia at the Moscow Raceway in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
This follows a strong debut for the Lada Sport Rosneft at the FIA WTCC Round in Germany at the Nurburgring where he had a race long battle with “Queen of the Ring” Sabine Schmitz delivering championship points for the team on his first outing, and fresh on the success of victory in the Monaco F1 supporting Porsche Supercup this weekend (24th May) where he showed considerable class in defeating a high quality 26 car field around the tight streets of the Principality.
The team hopes that van Lagen’s appearance on the top step of the podium in front of the Monaco Royal Box will provide the inspiration to bring a similar result at the Lada Sport Rosneft team’s home race at the Moscow Raceway on the outskirts of Moscow on 7th June.
