Turning Japanese

It will be Nash’s first-ever race in Japan and is one he has been looking forward to ever since the beginning of the year when he knew that he’d be graduating from the British Championship to the World series.

Nash hopes too that anticipated cooler weather conditions in Japan will suit his Team Aon Ford Focus better than the high temperatures of California where the most recent round of the WTCC was held a month ago.

James Nash: “ Suzuka has to be on every motor racing enthusiasts wish list so to be going there to compete is a huge thrill. I think that the track layout and the likely cooler conditions we’ll face will suit the Ford Focus so it is an event I’m very much looking forward to for every reason you can think of.”

“ Despite huge endeavour by everyone in the team we had a very disappointing meeting last time out in the USA. Hopefully, though in Japan we can unlock some more of the potential in the car and put that event behind us. Qualifying in the all-important top 12 is the first aim and then two top 10 finishes and points in the races is the second.”

“ We’re more than capable of doing so.”
