Craft-Bamboo Racing focused on return to form at the Hungaroring

Craft-Bamboo Racing has made their way to Budapest, Hungary, for the third round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship. The team is looking to make a return to form that netted their young driver, Grégoire Demoustier, his first world championship point in the first round of the season in Argentina.

Before the Moroccan round of the WTCC championship the team conducted an intensive test in Portimao, Portugal. The team covered over 1000km of successful mileage in a program that was aimed at collecting data and testing a variety of different set ups. While the engineering team and Demoustier were able to find increased performance during the test, the characteristics of the Moroccan circuit prevented this progress from being displayed.

I am now confident that I will be able to fight for some championship points and the team has done an excellent job preparing the car for Budapest.

The Hungaroring provides a more conventional circuit layout and one that Demoustier is familiar with. This should provide the team with the chance to show the developments and performance gained from the test in Portimao. The young Frenchman is intent on increasing his standings in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy by fighting his way into world championship point scoring territory once again.

Located close to the capital Budapest, the Hungaroring, is a 4.381-km circuit that has played host to the majority of motorsport’s top race disciplines, from Formula One, DTM and even the FIA GT. The track is considered to be difficult for overtaking due to its twisty and bumpy nature but the 14 corners, ranging from tight hairpin bends, short straights and a long sweeping mid-section should provide spectators with some quality touring car racing.

The third round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at the Hungaroring begins with free practice one at 09:00-09:30 (Local Time) on Saturday May 2nd, with free practice two following at 11:30-12:00. Later that day, qualifying one runs from 14:30-14:50, Q2 14:55-15:05 and Q3 will begin at 15:10. Two 14-lap races will be run on Sunday, May 3rd; with race one scheduled for 13:30 and race two for 14:40.
