Dušan Borković will switch to Proteam Racing for his second season in the FIA World Touring Car Championship when he will drive a Honda Civic WTCC.

The Serbian star, 30, drove a Campos Racing Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 in 2014, scoring a career-high second place in the WTCC Race of Japan at Suzuka. He will get his first taste of his new Proteam Honda at the official WTCC test day at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona, Spain on 13 February and will continue to race under #98.

I will proudly carry the Serbian flag, the name of my hometown Pancevo and my sponsor’s logos worldwide.

“I am starting my second, hopefully better season with a new team and car,” said Borković. “I am really grateful to Campos Racing for our cooperation in my debut WTCC season, when I achieved one of the best results in my career by coming second in Suzuka. Together with JAS and Proteam I will have to learn fast about the Honda as best I can so I can be ready for the pre-season tests. The most important thing is that I managed to fit in the Honda with my 207cm frame, but I believe they should build a larger cockpit for my size!”

He continued: “I always wanted to drive a Honda because of their amazing racing history. That’s why I am really happy and looking forward to driving my new car, and I am hoping for great results. I am very glad that my sponsors as well as Serbia and the city of Pancevo recognised the potential of promotion through racing. I will proudly carry the Serbian flag, the name of my hometown Pancevo and my sponsor’s logos worldwide. I hope my flag will be flown on the podium this year as well. I am grateful to all my sponsors for allowing me to continue my racing career through WTCC.”
