I GOT A SWELLED HEAD!
It has been a while since I have written something here, in reality besides my typical lack of organization that makes me arrive on things always at the very last minute, recently I have been really busy with my double sportive commitment.
After the good performance in the Italian Handbike Championship and the third place obtained in the European round at Piacenza, I "got a swelled head" and this sport has now, in my heart, an importance close to that of my traditional motor-racing commitments.
The persons in charge of cycling for differently able Italian team have been tempting me for a while, inviting me to take part to the next world championships held in Italy, in Novara this September. I said I got a swelled head but, jokes apart, seen the obtained results I felt worthy to accept the challenge and in the last period I spent a lot of my spare time training and getting more than encouraging results.
I know well that next 10 September, date of the chrono, I will find opponents terribly stronger than those I challenged so far and I do not deceive myself of obtaining a prestigious result, but my honest objective is to be at the level of the best Italian bikers and to finish in the top half of the clssification, waiting for a dream that could come true in London in 2012.
Back with the wheels on the ground, next 5-6 September we will run the German round of the WTCC at Oschersleben, track that I love a lot for awarding me with one of the biggest joys of my sportive career when I won in 2005. It will not be easy, but it would be great to get back to work after the summer holidays by taking home a good result that would move the classification.
I hug you all, sun tanned and not, see you next time.
