Matteo Pellegrino and Vergani Racing: a sealed deal!
It's official: Matteo Pellegrino has reached an agreement with Vergani Racing to compete in the World Series Light 2004 championship.
The race car driver from Ravenna (Italy) has decided to use the experience he accumulated last year in the same championship with the RC Motorsport, like this.
Mattoe Pellegrino, was born in Ravenna on September 22,1984.After his first experinces in Karting, Matteo made his debut on a single seater when he was only 16. He competed in Formula Campus and finished in a satisfying eighth place.
The Tatuus single seaters represent the next step. Pellegrino, who wasn't even 18 years old, partecipated in the Italian Formula Renault championship (2001-2002). 2003 was an important year for Matteo:the driver competed with the RC Motorsport team in a very challenging World Series Light.Pelligrino conquered an excellent sixth place finish in his debut year. He constantly summed up points (93 in all) and went on the podium 3 times. During the same year, he also participated in 2 races in the Euro 3000 Series , and had to confront a more powerful car.
The objective for 2004 is clear: to capitalize on the experience he acquired, at its best and to move up on the race car driver's classification.
Matteo Pellegrino will make his debut on board the Vergani Racing's Dallara during the test sessions set on March 5th in Barcelona and on March 8 &9, in Jarama.
I'm very satisfied with the agreement that I have reached with Vergani Racing.
The team believes in my potential and I surely don't want to disappoint them. The 2003 season was useful for me to gain some confidence with the car and the tracks. Now I have to start thinking like a leader and need to fight fot the first positions. In a few days , I will be attending the test sessiona dn I can't wiat to get back on track to preprare for the season."
