World Series By Nissan Says Good Bye in Jerez
7 years of successful legacy in motor sport
Barcelona, 26 October 2004 - The World Series by Nissan will celebrate its Final Round in Jerez the next 7th of November. After 7 years of success, Renault will replace the Japanese manufacturer in a brand-new project, World Series by Renault, starting in May 1 2005.
The last two races of the current Season in Jerez would close a long and reputed list of Title Winners: Marc Gene (ESP), Fernando Alonso (ESP), Antonio Garcia (ESP), Ricardo Zonta (BRA), Franck Montagny (FRA), and the recently crowned Heikki Kovalainen (FIN). Jerez will be doubtless the place to be if you don't want to miss the last run of the impressive Dallara Nissan cars.
Heikki Kovalainen and the Pons Racing team became the 2004 Driver and Team Title Winners after the meeting of Valencia but the World Series by Nissan's still in search of the other two drivers that will complete the top three positions.
Tiago Monteiro (POR) has achieved 4 victories in his first Season (including his doubble win at Zolder) and Enrique Berloldi (BRA) has already grabbed two important victories. The list of candidates is still quite long, following with JC Ravier (FRA), Tristan Gommendy (FRA) and Narain Kartikheyan (IND).
Kovalainen and Bernoldi may have seen as the advantaged drivers after completing the last F-1 test of the 2004 Season in Jerez, but the World Series by Nissan is far to be concentrate only in the track acknowledgement--
Damien Pasini makes his debut in the World Series by Nissan competition
Top British Team Carlin Motorsport second place in the Overall Standings would be defended from other top teams contesting like Epsilon Euskadi and GD Racing.
Besides this fight, GD Racing is attending this meeting with a new driver, the Frenchman Damien Pasini. The Young former Formula Renault V6 driver tested the Dallara Nissan SN01 car in Valencia, but Jerez would be his racing debut in the Series.
More about the future--Narain Kartikheyan completed some laps with the IRL car in Phoenix (Red Bull Eddie Cheever Team).
