Dallara delivers de first World Series Light cars.
The world's fastest 2-liter single-seater
A 5 year project with 250 HP and engine revisions every 7.000 km.
An exclusive 180,000 EUR bonus reserved for the winner
The World Series Light debuts in Magny Cours, the next 18th of May.
Barcelona, 24TH April 2003 Dallara Automobili, S.r.l. has completed the work of the WSL-AER new 2-liter single-seater, which has replaced the old Coloni Nissan CN1/C units, by delivering the first units of this new single-seater. This new car will be the star of the World Series Light, the new mid category of the Superfund World Series by Nissan competition scale.
Strategically, 2003 was not a good year to start an all-new single-seater. The economical crisis is evident, and the confusion all over Europe in terms of single-seaters is more than obvious.
The extreme quality of this car, as it uses a unique engine build up on purpose for the WSL03 single-seater, allows a long-term life of 5 years for the new born Championship, without any chassis or engine specs substitution. The period of 5 years extends from 2003-2004, the end of the current period with Nissan, and the years 2005,2006,2007 and 2008wich belongs to the second period of the Superfund World Series by Nissan.
A new concept under a known theme in the World Series: less cost, optimal performances
This circumstance gives security and favours the economy of the teams and drivers by reducing the scale costs and the capital allowances.
The new WSL-AER means a revolution in the segment of the 2,000-cc single-seater competition cars. This car will be using an AER engine created specifically for competition (any parts or components of this unit comes from a car make) offering a power of 250 HP at 8.000 r.p.m, and it could be developed to reach 300 HP.
In terms of aerodynamics, Dallara has done an excellent work in the Wind Tunnel. The new car has a downforce of more than 1.000 Kg, thanks to the expert work of Dallara Automobili in the development of ground effect single-seaters.
In line with the F3000
The new Dallara Light 01 is expected to be 4 or 5 seconds faster than the former Coloni Nissan CN1/C. Even more, 1'5 and 2 seconds faster than the first version from the Coloni Nissan equipped with the 250 HP engine. Therefore, its performances will be lined-up with the best F3000 registers.
The World Series Light are addressed exclusively to consecrated drivers in the different F3 International championships, that paradoxically, may benefit from extremely high performances at very capped costs, in reference to the different European F3 Series.
In resume, this is another step forward in the line of work of RPM Racing, since it started in 1998 the Formula Nissan saga. More performance at capped cost.
180,000 EUR Bonus for the winner
The winner of this Series will receive a bonus of 180,000 EUR. This bonus is a unique help made in purpose so the winning driver steps in the top category, the Superfund World Series by Nissan. The former winner of the Formula Nissan, Santiago Porteiro, has already profited the prior delivered bonus joining one of the top teams in the Superfund World Series by Nissan, the Spanish-based squad Adrian Campos Motorsport.
