2006 season is already starting...

To start the last test session of the year at the Paul Ricard HTTT, the World Series by Renault offered to the FR1.6 and FR. 2.0 2005 Champions the opportunity to take the wheel of the 3.5 World Serie car on the 3C (3,841km) track solution of the HTTT.

Sunshine and dry weather offered the ideal conditions for testing.

The young drivers completed each around twenty laps. German, Michael Ammermuller, 2nd at the 2005 Eurocup championship FR 2.0 realised the best time in 1.16.025 at the wheel of the Draco Racing team ahead of Portuguese driver Filipe Albuquerque in the Epsilon Euskadi Team, in 1.16.247 and Jan Heylen, 2005 Megan Trophy champion in the Carlin Motorsport Team in 1.16.447

End of the year testing is the proper moment to look for and test the most promising drivers. Therefore, from 10:30 am and after this sort of 'Race Champion', the 15 WSR teams tested new drivers as to prepare the 2006 season.

Tomorrow the test will continue allowing more new drivers to show their skills and who knows, maybe find themselves a WSR wheel in 2006.
