DAMS & DANIELSSON DISAPPOINTED DESPITE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CAR
Alx Danielsson took 8th & 9th position of his group in both qualifying sessions of Oschersleben's World Series by Renault Event and will start tomorrow's sprint race at place on the grid and place for the afternoon long race.
During the 2 days of testing Danielsson and the technical staff explored several technical solutions in order to reach a good level of performance. Yesterday night after the final practice, even though he had no opportunity to make a real fast time attempt with new tires the car was satisfying.
Alx and the team was expecting a strong qualifying day but the result was a bit frustrating. In the morning the car seemed well balanced with a lack of grip and resulted with 1.2 second from pole. In the afternoon Alx confirmed a good improvement of the feeling with his car and the performance level, he reduced the gap but as Alx's qualifying group was so close that with only 8 tenths from pole he took 9th position.
It will be difficult to score points in tomorrow's race but the team will work with Alx in order to have a specific strategy that could help to come in the top 10.
Pastor Maldonado is in Oschersleben to support his team mate and will come back to race in his car in the next round of World Series at Donington.
