The next date of the Superfund World Series by Nissan will have France as the next destination. The World Series will take place in the French circuit of Mangy Cours the next 18th of May. This will be the second year for the Dallara Nissan single sitters of the World Series in this circuit, but as a difference from last year, the track of the circuit will be different. Magny Cours presents a new layout. The track has been modify to improve the possibilities to overtake the other drivers, conserving the high level of security by eliminating the chicane before the finish line.

The arrival of the World Series to France is more special than ever because in this edition of the 2003 there is a great harvest of French drivers. In total, there are about seven French drivers seeking for a victory back home. This year France is represented by: Stephane Sarrazin, Didier Andre, Bruno Besson, Jean Chritophe Ravier, Bruce Jouanny, Mathieu Zangarelli and the current leader of the Series, Franck Montagny.

It would be in Magny Cours where Montagny, who has already won three of the four races of the World Series, will defend his leadership from the rest of the drivers. In this moment, Montagny has an advantage of 33 points against the second driver, the Spaniard Marc Gene. But Montagny is very modest, and he doesn't want to see himself as the final winner "We will have to wait for that. We have only competed in four races, so we have to be very careful. Everybody is trying to reduce the distance, although we know we have a big opportunity and we are willing to fight until the end"

About competing in the French circuit of Magny Cours, Montagny said he feels really comfortable competing at home "I know the track really well. We have already tested the new layout and we had gone really fast. Anyway, I think that the changes in the circuit will make that everybody will run very equally".

Thanks to the different performances of the French driver and of his team mate, Heikki Kovalainen, Gabord Competicion Team will go to the circuit being ahead of the Superfund World Series by Nissan. In total, Gabord's Lead with 94 points, 50 points in advance from the second best team Tata Carlin.

Teams tested new track
Many teams had had the occasion to test the new layout in the Magny Cours Circuit. Last 5th of May a private practice took place at Magny Cours with the participation of Epsilon Euskadi, Gabord Competicion, Repsol Racing for Spain, Saulnier Racing, Adrian Campos, RC Motorsport and GD Racing.

The Results in these tests had been very positive as the Team Manager of Saulnier Racing, Serge Saulnier explained "It had been very pleasant to know that this year the circuit will be more competitive. There is not much difference with the old layout, although this one has one curve that is tighter. We hope to take advantages on our drivers experience in Magny Cours, specially with Bruno Besson experience".

On the other hand, the British team Tata Carlin did a little shakedown in the English circuit of Snetterton. The rest of the teams, Superfund Zele Racing, GD Racing and the Belgian team KTR will wait to take part in the collective test, next Thursday 15th of May, so their drivers could learn the track better.

The French Driver Zangarelli will compete next to Bernoldi in GD Racing The team GD Racing will incorporate to its lines a new young driver that will start racing in Magny Cours. The new driver of GD Racing will be Mathieu Zangarelli a young driver with experience in the Japanese and French Formula 3. Zangarelli will race next to Enrique Bernoldi, who is also new in GD Racing where he started competing in the last round in the Zolder circuit.
