Enrique Bernoldi, Stephane Sarrazin and Marc Gene may be their serious contenders for the weekend. These guys represent the elite of the 22 entered drivers for the weekend. Somehow, they have lived the experience of Grand Prix. Montagny was the last to take this chance during the private testing session, in the last French GP, with the RenaultF1 Team thanks to his testing role. The 4 drivers had been presented this morning in a Press Conference like superstars. The Eurospeedway organisation commanded by HJ Fischer did no wrong: this is the ultimate driver's championship. Although the Dallara Nissan cars, with 450 HP and a magic chassis, same size as a Formula Car, its quite a fantastic car!

The 5th meeting of the Series is going to be less complicated for some of the drivers. At least 5 squads were testing in the Eurospeedway last week. And today, Vilariño (epsilon Euskadi), on of these teams, topped the list of times of the morning session (1.33.986 173.7km/h). Vilariño said he was happy to start working since last week with his new race engineer (an old friend from his French competition stage) Stephane Trefoux. JC Ravier has been 3rd, leaving the young and refreshing talent Heikki Kovalainen in the second best place. The session has just re-started and will finish at 17h00 (local time)

Bernoldi has declared to be quite excited, as John Travis has recently joined the Italian squad. Travis was the former chief designer at PENSKE since 1996.

A total of 11 drivers were packed in the same second, with Burgueño (Vergani Repsol Racing for Spain) and the BMW WilliamsF1 tester, Marc Gene, in the 4th and 5th position. Montagny signed a discrete 12th place, but the race-weekend has not officially started.

Mathias Lauda and Milka Duno were also testing with their World Series Light cars. This all-new category with 250 HP will celebrate its second meeting here in the Eurospeedway.

The 17-year driver Adrian Valles (another member of the RDD program) did a strong debut in Monza by achieving both victories.
