Gravity-Charouz Racing and DAMS gear up to compete in the World Series by Renault Formula 3.5
Affter enjoying a successful campaign in the Auto GP Championship, Gravity-Charouz Racing is set to extend its collaboration this year by competing in the World Series by Renault Formula 3.5 category. This ambitious racing team is also joined by the technical support of DAMS, who will oversee engineering operations and provide technical support. Together these three racing organisations have set their eyes firmly on finding success in this most competitive of racing series, which has proved to be an effective training ground for F1 talent.
About Charouz Racing System
With some 25 years experience in motorsport, the Charouz Racing System is one of the most renowned racing teams of the Czech Republic. Founded by Antonin Charouz in 2002, the team has switched from national to international racing, and has achieved strong results in various championships. It raced and took wins in F3000, oversaw the Czech Republic car in A1GP, and won the Le Mans Series with the Aston Martin works LM P1 car. The links with Gravity, established in 2010, and now with DAMS, will make Gravity-Charouz Racing a formidable force in the 2011 World Series by Renault.
The name DAMS is well known to any motor sport enthusiast. Based just down the road from the famous Le Mans circuit, the team was founded in 1988 by Jean-Paul Driot and Rene Arnoux and initially competed in F3000 for eight seasons, helping drivers take the step up to Formula 1. From 1997 onwards, the team has raced in various categories including the 24 hours of Le Mans, FIA GT, GP2, A1GP and the World Series by Renault. Over the last 20 years their successes include three international F3000 titles and two A1GP World Cups. By joining forces with Gravity-Charouz racing, they bring with them an enviable list of achievements and the engineering expertise that will prove invaluable for Gravity-Charouz Racing.
