Mathieu Zangarelli signs with GD Racing.
The French driver joins the Superfund World Series by Nissan in Magny Cours.
Barcelona 6th of May 2003- The French driver Mathieu Zangarelli has closed a deal with the GD Racing Team to compete in the next three races of the Superfund World Series by Nissan in Magny Cours, Monza and Lausitzring. Cristiano Giardina, Team Manager of GD Racing, has declared: "we are really happy to have Mathieu with us. His race history is so good, that we hope to take out the best from him. At the moment he will only dispute the three races that we have agreed, but I think that he will probably stay with us. That depends on his efficiency and the continuity of his sponsor".
Zangarelli will have his first opportunity to demonstrate all his experience in Magny Cours, his country circuit where the next World Series round will take place. In the past, Zangarelli has done a brilliant performance in championships as the Japanese and French Formula 3, and now he hopes to make history with the World Series "This will be a great opportunity for me. I'm very interested in the World Series because they have such a big level and also because Nissan is the constructor of the championship. I'm also happy to compete for GD Racing. I've met them in the last race at Zolder and I think they are a really good team with a lot of experience in the World Series".
About his continuity competing for GD Racing, Zangarelli hopes to finish this year championship "I will do my best to continue. I still have to get used to the car, but I think I will do good. Finishing this season competing in the World Series is very important for me, because for me, this championship is the most important competition there is after the Formula 1".
