First victory for Alvarez in Magny-Cours (Lights)

Juan Cruz Alvarez along with the Reyco Motorsport completed a fantastic sunday at the third double round of the World Series Light disputed at Magny-Cours, France.

The Argentinian arrived second in the first competition and took the victory in the other one.

The weekend started complicated for the Alvarez and his team. The Argentinian suffered mechanics problems in his Dallara and he couldn`t qualify for the first race, which put him in last position of the grid.

The activity on sunday also started bad for the Reyco Motorsport and his driver. Another problem made him iniciated the race one, disputed under rain, from the pits.

However Juan Cruz never gave up and shown an excellent recovery until arrive second at 3s491 of the winner, the French Julian Vidot (Epsilon by Graff).

The second race was much easy for Alvarez, who started second and quickly took the leadership. The Argentinian dominated the 16 laps of competition and confortably won followed by the Spanish Celso Miguez (Meycom) at 4s458.

¨In the race one it rained a lot and I recovered very well after started from the pits. When it rest two laps I took the second place and I decided to stay there and take care the car¨, said the 17 years old driver.

Then he added: ¨In the second race I took the first position in the start and I tried to make a gap. This victory and the second place make me very happy because the team worked a lot after the first round to improve the car, and now we know we have a good machine for the second part of the championship¨.

¨A weekend that started complicated with mechanics problem finished no doubt in the best way. In race one, Juan Cruz did a fantastic job. In the second he just killed them, he marked the fastest lap and was just great¨, said Reinaldo Cozzani, team manager of Reyco Motorsport.

After this weekend the standings has Alvarez in second with 66 points, 19 less the leader, the Spanish Adrián Vallés (Escuela Lois Circuit), who arrived sixth in race one and retired in the other.

The World Series Light will have activity again on September 21th. at A-1 Ring, Austria. But before the category will make a couple of test days in Valencia, Spain.
