First winter test for Draco Team in preparation for the 2009 season
After only two weeks after the end of the 2008 championship, Draco Team will be back on track this week in Paul Ricard circuit in France for the first winter test session in preparation for the 2009 season.
5, 6 and 7 november: three days particularly important to meet new drivers and to test the car. The Team want to shake off the fatigue of last season and open a new chapter.
In the circuit of Paul Ricard Draco Team will line up on track Marco Barba, Draco Driver in 2008 season, while in the other car Omar Leal and Johan Jokinen, in addition to the Renault driver Tristan Vautier.
Omar Julian Leal, 1990 class, Colombian, winner of the Italian Formula 3000 in 2008, he began his career in karting in 2001 before moving to Nacamar championship in 2005. In 2007, the jump in European Formula 3000 and the victory in the Italian Championship the following year.
Johan Jokinen comes from Denmark and he has the same age as Leal. The eighteen Danish debuted in karts at 10 years before moving to the Championship ICA Junior Northern Europe. Given the excellent results, he obtained in 2006 the passage to the European Championship ICA where he arrived 3rd and the following year he won the 1st place in the Formula Ford Junior Cup in Denmark. A beautiful season in 2008 in Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, where Jokinen wins 4th place, opens the door for a future career in professionalism.
Tristan Vautier is the driver chosen by Renault for the test in the circuit of Paul Ricard with Draco Team, having concluded the 2008 season at 2nd place of the French Championship FFSA Formula Renault 2.0. 2nd in 2006 in Formula Renault Campus France, 4th ex aequo in the French Championship Formula Renault 2.0 in 2007, the French now dreams to assert himself in major formulas.
After three days in Paul Ricard, Draco Team prepares the second test session in Valencia, planned for 26 and 27 november, when on track there will be Marco Barba, Edoardo Piscopo and Claudio Cantelli.
