ALX DANIELSSON JOINS DAMS FOR THE 2005 FORMULA RENAULT 3.5 CHAMPIONSHIP
Promising Young Swede Alx Danielsson signs with French outfit DAMS for World Series by Renault.
"It's an excellent opportunity for me," says Alx. "DAMS is a very professional team that will give me what is needed to challenge for the title."
Jean-Paul Driot, CEO and founder of DAMS, has high hopes for the future.
"Alx showed a lot of promise in last years Formula Renault V6 series and we believe he has the skills that we are looking for. He is the kind of driver we want in our team."
Eric Boullier, Managing Director of DAMS: "I met Alx when he was racing in Formula Ford and he tested with us in the FRV6 in December 2003. Unfortunately we did not manage to reach an agreement for 2004 and today I am delighted to welcome him in the Team, he is a very good competitor and the experience he gained last year in FRV6 will be important for us."
Alx Danielsson competed in last years Formula Renault V6-series and took one victory at the final race weekend in Dubai. Danielsson will partner Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado in the DAMS team. The first official test of the Team is planned with a 2004 World Series car on 19th and 20th February on the Paul Ricard track. First race of the season will be held at Zolder, Belgium, the 1st of May.
