Baz still leader of the championship

For his first ever race on the wet, Loris Baz defended his lead in the championship. He started only 20th, after two small crashes during practice. In the first lap; he was already 13th, then progressed to 11th in lap 3. After 7 laps, he was on 8th position, but unfortunately crashed during the last lap. He could re-join the race and ended up 12th. So he is still leading the championship, with now a 25 points advantage.

In the 1000cc class, after difficult practice (32nd time), Franck Millet started well and was 19th at the end of the first lap. He progressed to 15th on lap 2, and then 14th on lap 3. He finished in 17th position, close to scoring some points, and ended up 2nd French rider. Xavier Simeon (Suzuki) won the race with a great style.

Loris Baz: "One must accept his own mistakes. Even the great champions make some. I had a very good race until two curves from the end. I missed a gear and a rider passed me. I wanted to pass him back and went on the outside but I missed my braking. I am sorry for the team."

Martial Garcia (team-manager): "After some difficult practice because of two crashes and a complete inexperience of the wet, Loris saved the points of the 12th position and saved a good advantage on Vostarek. Franck Millet, substituting for Sylvain Barrier, fulfilled his mission."
