DONI TATA PRADITA UNFORTUNATE
Doni did a good race at the Nurburgring, still suffering from his injured shoulder. He tried very hard and went as high as the 15th position during the race. But there was a technical problem with only one lap to go and he had to retire.
After the first lap, the Yamaha Indonesia rider was in 24th place. Then he gained many position and was 17th at half distance. With 3 laps to go before the end of the race, he was 15th and had the possibility to score some championship points. But it was not his lucky day and retired with one lap to go because of a mechanical problem.
The race was won by the championship leader Cal Crutchlow on his Yamaha. Eugene Laverty (Honda) finished second, with Joan Lascorz in third position.
Doni Tata Pradita: "I had a bad start because we were using a new start control system and it was not so good. Then I gained positions in the first and second corners. At the end after the engine stopped I tried to finish the race but it was not possible where the track go uphill. I am not so happy, but I made a good job coming back from 24th position to 15th. I felt some pain in my shoulder, but if the pain was gone when I was 15th-- the pain came back when I had to stop and retire! I want to do better at the next race, if possible in the top 10. I am sorry for my Indonesian fans."
Team-manager Martial Garcia: "Doni went up brilliantly to the 15th position. He did his quickest time in the last laps. Unfortunately he had to retire just before the last lap because of a technical problem. We are very sorry because he came back very well after his injury. He could have finished 15th or 16th, which is good in his physical condition."
