Benelli Sport to start from 18th on the grid at Oschersleben.
Despite making improvements to the set up of the Benelli Tornado Superbike Peter Goddard was unable to improve on his Friday qualifying.
"We made several changes this morning," explained Goddard. "It made quite a bit of difference but again it was a too little too late. The bike was better but I couldn't make it into Superpole, which is a disappointment."
There was no doubt about Peter's level of commitment; as usual he worked hard both on and off track to try to improve matters. "We have a number of improvements and modifications to make, hopefully there will be time to get them done before the last Imola."
In Superpole Britain's Neil Hodgson lapped at a new circuit best lap pace to take Superpole. Championship leader Troy Bayliss could only manage sixth on the grid after almost crashing in Superpole.
