The confirmation that sealed the deal for Red Bull Media House to join forces with the Sportsman Media Group as the new partners to oversee the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship.

Red Bull submitted their bid earlier in August and now they have the approval from the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) approved for the FIA to proceed with the agreement that now includes the German and Austrian sports agency (SMG).

The top rallying series has been without a promoter since the start of the 2012 season when the FIA terminated the agreement with North One Sport for “fundamental breach of contract”. North One Sport was not meeting their contractual obligation.

Despite the challenges facing the WRC this season, they continued to hold events while looking toward the future. It appears that the world’s best in rallying has a bright new future and with a major company they already know.

Red Bull currently sponsor selected WRC events, plus they sponsor the Citroen team with the eight times champion Sebastien Loeb.

The Austrian company known world-wide for its energy drinks has taken many giant steps toward adding to their own future as organizers and promoters of key events around the globe plus their sponsorship of the reigning world championship team in Formula One.

For the fans in Great Britain, having the Wales rally back as the season finale in 2013 is and additional plus. The season will open in Monte Carlo.
