Sebastien Ogier did not put a foot wrong during a rainy morning of the second day of Rally GB, extending his lead over nearest pursuer Kris Meeke to nearly 20 seconds.
The first runs of both the Gartheiniog and Dyfi stages were topped by Theirry Neuville, who started the day second on the road following his retirement yesterday.
However, Ogier was unbeatable during the second run through Dyfi, pipping Kris Meeke by 5.6s and stretching his overall lead to 19.3s.
"The rain is keeping it bad for everyone," Ogier said. "There is some abrasion in there, but I have two spares so I don't have to think too much about my tyres."
Andreas Mikkelsen became the fourth stage-winner of the event by going fastest on SS9, but endured an otherwise difficult morning and is now 46.7s behind his French teammate.
Mads Ostberg lost a minute on SS8 to drop behind Dani Sordo but he got fourth place back after the Spaniard hit a barrier and spun due to gearbox issues on SS10.
As a result, Sordo also surrendered fifth to Ott Tanak, who continued to enjoy a trouble-free rally. The top eight was completed by Hayden Paddon and Elfyn Evans.
Jari-Matti Latvala returned under Rally 2 rules, having gotten himself stuck in a ditch on Friday, but was forced to retire once again, this time due to a broken driveshaft.
