Sebastien Ogier completed the second day of Rally Wales with two strong runs, extending his lead over Kris Meeke to 35.7s seconds.
Volkswagen’s three-time world champion dropped just half a second to teammate Andreas Mikkelsen in the first of the two night stages and then went on to go fastest in SS15, beating local driver Elfyn Evans by 3.2s.
"For us it's been a great day. Very tough conditions and so much water. Tonight's stages were not so bad though, so much water has washed away the mud," said Ogier.
Although he was behind the Frenchman through SS14 and SS15, Kris Meeke kept the pace, allowing himself a solid gap over Mikkelsen heading into the final day.
Ott Tanak continued to hold fourth, closely followed by top Hyundai driver Dani Sordo.
Sordo's teammate Hayden Paddon and Evans sit in sixth and seventh, separated by less than five seconds, while Mads Ostberg is a further minute behind, having continued to struggle after his spin earlier in the day.
The 2015 edition of the World Rally Championship will conclude with four Sunday stages, which are 36km in length combined.
