WALES RALLY GB -- UPDATE AFTER STAGE 11, HALFWAY 1

STOBART M-Sport Ford's Henning Solberg was rewarded for his charge this morning on Wales Rally GB to climb to sixth overall.

The Norwegian Ford Focus RS WRC driver moved up one place on the overall rankings but admitted the conditions on the stages were particularly tough.

"Tricky is an understatement," he said. "We went flat out this morning but I really don't enjoy these types of conditions -- we're doing all that we can but it's very difficult," said Solberg.

British team-mate Matthew Wilson also moved up the leaderboard this morning and now occupies seventh position.

"Stage 8 was definitely the muddiest stage so far and incredibly slippery", said Wilson. "There was a thin film of mud on the surface which really knocked my confidence but everything's been going OK."

Chinese driver Liu Chao Dong battled back after his retirement yesterday to sit 34th.

"Compared to China, these stages are much faster and very, very slippery. We're being careful after yesterday but we will build on our pace this afternoon once I'm feeling more confident," said Dong.
