Petter and Chris are second after the first day in Wales, and a big step closer to a Championship podium.

The first day of Rally GB is finished, and it has been an exciting day. Petter and Chris is second in the overall classification, but only 1,8 seconds behind Sebastien Loeb who is leading the rally. Sebastien Ogier is third. Jari-Matti Latvala is sixth, after he lost time on a puncture.

- I am really happy about the second today, says Petter Solberg. - Without the problems we were having, I know I would be even faster. We noticed that we had a gearbox problem on SS4, and it got worse during the afternoon. I am so surprised we managed to get second fastest time on the final stage, that shouldn't really be possible. So, I'm happy about second, which means a good road-position for tomorrow.

Not only did Petter had to struggle with a dodgy gear-box, a broken starter-motor also caused him a bit of a challenge, as he knew he would not be able to start the car again if he stalled the engine.

Rally GB continues with 9 more stages tomorrow, first car will be on the road from 0903 (local time).
