Notes: - great disappointment as overnight rally leader, Thomas Radstrom driving a Toyota Corolla, retires from the Swedish rally on SS12 after going off the road and damaging the radiator - Colin McRae (Subaru) also exited the rally of SS12 with electrical failure - Carlos Sainz also had a 'big off' on SS12! He spun while in 6th gear, hit 'something' and damaged the left front wheel.
- the road conditions/tyre choices have played a major role in today's results. Generally, there is a lot less snow on the roads than yesterday and there is even some gravel showing through. Contact with gravel will drastically decrease the life of the studs used in snow tyres. Given the long stages, it is very difficult to choose a tyre and stud type which will last and be competitive for the entire stage. Mitusbishi is using the new Michelin GE and Toyota the Michelin GA & GE
- no change in the Group N leaderboard from last night
- in Formula 2, Alister McRae retired from the rally on SS12 (yet another!) although the reason why is not yet known. Per Svan (Opel) ran off the road on SS11
