Super1600 Spanish Champion in 1999 and 2000, Sergio Vallejo, will expand his sporting program with the inclusion of 6 rallies that comprises the Super1600 World Championship. He will use the new FIAT PUNTO Super1600, a car similar to the unit that he drove to win the Spanish Title in 2000. He also will count with the WRC experience of his brother and codriver, Diego Vallejo.

"We, the Team and myself, have a lot of hope in the project. We think that working hard, we could achive good results", said Sergio.

This is a Championship with a great future, FIA wants it to substitute Gp.N as an entry category to WRC. For 2001 the Championship compromises the following events: España-Catalunya, Acropolis (Greece), Finland, Sanremo (Italy), Tour de Corse (Corsica) and Great Britain. All those events will be held between March and November.

The Fiat Punto, with 200 hp, was developed by FIAT AUTO CORSE in Italy to meet the FIA specifications, will be ran in rallies by Pronto Racing team. The same Team that helped Vallejo to win the category in 1999 and 2000 in Spain.
