Stephane Sarrazin will be back to the World Rally Championship after a nine-year absence as he joins the entry list for the upcoming Tour de Corse.
Sarrazin, 39, contested part-time WRC campaigns with Subaru between 2004 and 2006, his best finish a fourth place.
His return will be behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta entered by First Motorsport, who helped him to a win in last year's Tour de Corse - when the event was part of the European Rally Championship.
The versatile Sarrazin, who has one Formula 1 start to his name, currently works as both a factory driver for Toyota in WEC and a Venturi driver in Formula E.
"I’m happy to be at the start of the Tour de Corse as it's a rally that I particularly appreciate," Sarrazin said. I’m also very pleased to return to the World Championship.
"Of course my objectives aren’t the same as last year - WRC contenders are very high quality drivers! We’re going to fight with what we’ve got: a certain knowledge of the site, a perfect harmony with the team and a good understanding of the car on that type of roads."
