Perez and Bolsover battle through for best ever finish at Rally of GB!
After three days of competition, over 18 of the worlds toughest rally stages, Derbyshire's Steve Perez and co-driver Jonty Bolsover were delighted to finish the Rally of Great Britain in a superb 25^th place from a field of over 100 of the worlds very best rally drivers.
The Rally of GB, the final round of the World Rally Championships, is always a hard fought race and with the World Championship crown on the line for the winner the competition was hotter than ever. Steve, owner of VK Vodka Kick, was driving his new Ford Focus for only the second time but looked like a seasoned pro as he progressed up the leader board after a steady start.
The rally wasn't without its problems for Steve and Jonty with clutch and steering difficulties arising during the second and final day but both were over the moon with their final position.
Commenting Steve said: "We have had a superb weekend and it is testament to our team of mechanics from BTR Racing and every one of our support crew that we have made it through this gruelling rally in one piece. I have been delighted with our progress in the new car, our times improving by over 2 seconds a kilometre since the start of the weekend."
Steve and Jonty will travel to Norway shortly to compete in a snow rally before looking forward to an assault on the National Rally Championship series in 2004.
