OMV BIXXOL Rally Team already in seventh place

Romanians Claudiu David and Mihaela Beldie from the OMV BIXXOL Rally Team remain the surprise of the Production-Car World Rally Championship. On the second day of the "Rally Japan" the OMV duo moved up from eighth to seventh place. Thus the first WRC-points are within reach. All this at their only second WRC assignment.

Avoiding mistakes

Claudiu David (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) is looking forward to the final day of the Rally Japan. After the Rally Argentina where the 28-year-old OMV driver had not been eligible to score points he currently lies within scoring ranks seven special stages prior to the finish line. Furthermore, David/Beldie were able to move up from eighth to seventh place in the FIA P- Car WRC on the second leg. So far only Stepan Vojtech (CZ) had scored points within the OMV BIXXOL Rally Team in Mexico. And the Romanian plans to follow suit. David: "We try to stay on the road and want to learn kilometre by kilometre and avoid mistakes. I'm not thinking of the final result yet for this would prevent me from going fast. But our goal naturally is to score points at this rally. It would be a great success for Romanian rally sports."
