OMV BIXXOL Rally Team in scoring ranks

The OMV BIXXOL Rally Team with the Romanian pair Claudiu David and Mihaela Beldie has people prick up their ears at their only second assignment in the FIA Production-Car World Rally Championship. The OMV duo finished the first day of the "Rally Japan" in excellent eighth intermediate place and therefore lies within WRC-scoring ranks.

A great feeling

Claudiu David (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) had every reason to rejoice at the final service of day one. Third-best time on the final super stage adjacent to the service park had the Romanian OMV driver move up into the top 8 of the P-Car WRC-ranking. All this at his only second assignment in the World Championship. "Claudiu performs very cleverly and tries to minimise the risk. But he is still getting faster each time and has truly earned this intermediate result", explains OMV BIXXOL Team Manager Gunther Aschacher. The driver himself locates the secret in the preparation. David: "By reports we knew what to expect here and therefore prepared ourselves intensively. Sometimes the right tactics make for the bigger success."
