FIRST STEP TAKEN IN WRC QUALIFICATION
The Safety Delegate from motorsports' world governing body, the Federation International de l'Automobile (FIA), Mr Jacek Bartos (Poland), is today (Tuesday, 5th December) visiting the North West of Ireland to review the route and safety procedures of Rally Ireland 2006.
RALLY IRELAND ROUTE 2006
Rally Ireland will be expanding in 2006. Once again the rally will be based in the North West with Sligo as the host city and Enniskillen Airport providing the Service Park.
The route will be visiting more counties than last year.
After a very successful 2005 pilot event, attention immediately turned to Rally Ireland 2006 which takes place on March 10th - 12th. The biggest decision for the organisers to make this year was what surface to run in 2006.
Having met with several top FIA officials, and WRC team principals, it was felt that running on tarmac would enable the Rally Ireland team to excel.
