OMV Kronos Citroen WRT Stohl/Minor starts in Corsica

Saturday evening held good news in store for the OMV Kronos Citroen WRT Manfred Stohl/Ilka Minor. The OMV duo will be able to compete in the "Rallye de France - Tour de Corse" from October 12 to 14 after all despite the total loss of the Citroen Xsara WRC after the rollover on Friday morning. Thanks to the commitment of Citroen and the Kronos-Racing Team the car, prepared for the gravel stages in Japan, will be converted for tarmac surface conditions.

This Saturday was one of the longest days in Manfred Stohl's rally career. Following the total loss of the Citroen Xsara WRC due to the rollover on the third special stage on Friday morning it seemed for a long time as if the OMV Kronos Citroen WRT wouldn't be able to partake in the Rally Corsica. And the 34-year-old OMV driver had to wait till Saturday evening for the final all-clear. Tomorrow already the car, prepared for the gravel conditions in Japan, will be transported from Belgium to Corsica where it will be reconverted for tarmac surface. "I am obviously very happy about this since if you've got rallying in your blood you want to compete as often as possible. And I am especially grateful to Citroen and the Kronos- Racing Team for their commitment to make this possible for me ", said a beaming Manfred Stohl.

A commitment that won't get any easier after the end of the Rally Corsica for then the crew will only have one day to reconvert the Citroen Xsara WRC for gravel surface before the car will be transported to Japan.
