Claiming his fifth straight Australian Rally Championship, taking his third Asia-Pacific Rally Championship and now finishing the season off with his second privateer win at World Championship level, Subaru Australia's Possum Bourne has had a season many would be hard to beat! Bourne raced home to finish in 8th outright behind a string of World Championship drivers, adding to his outstanding 6th in New Zealand from earlier this season.
"We're all very happy, now my job is done and we can party!" exclaimed Bourne after completing the final stage of the day, the Leg based around the Sotico (formerly Bunnings) Pine Plantation south east of Perth. Bourne suffered a few minor dramas during the day including a tyre vibration on the day's first stage after the anti-flat tyre mousse started to expand and then dropped more time on the second stage with a flat.
