2013 WRC champion Sébastien Ogier led the first day of Rally Argentina action.
Sébastien Ogier has taken the early lead in Rally Argentina after the super special stage Thursday. The reigning series champion defeated Citroen's Mads Ostberg in their head-to-head duel. Ogier was a full three seconds faster. No one could match his torrid pace.
Andreas Mikkelsen, Mikko Hirvonen, and Jari-Matti Latvala rounded out the top five. Dani Sordo, who had led the shakedown, put down a time good enough for seventh.
Jari Ketomaa placed ninth and led WRC-2, 9.5 seconds behind the 'Flying Frenchman.' Robert Kubica, a former race winner at the Formula One level, was 12th in his Ford Fiesta. It was a strong day for the VW boys who placed 1st, 3rd, and 5th on the time sheet.
Day two will be the first real test for the teams and drivers with two grueling stages that are repeated later in the day.
