Latvala stretches lead on second day of Rallye de France

Volkswagen Motorsport continues to run 1-2, but the margin has widened between the teammates.

Jari-Matti Latvala has skipped away from teammate Andreas Mikkelsen and now holds a 28 second advantage. The good news for Mikkelsen is that his closest rival (Kris Meeke), is a further 25.7 seconds behind him in third.

Less than a second separates Robert Kubica and Dani Sordo in their dispute over fourth place. Behind them, it was Mikko Hirvonen, Mads Ostberg, Elfyn Evans, Bryan Bouffier, and Thierry Neuville.

There were no major incidents to report from today's leg. Sebastien Ogier's horrid weekend continues, although he had a nearly flawless day. The good news is he lost little ground to Latvala, the bad news is that he was eight minutes and 52 seconds behind to begin with. He did move up ten places in the running however, currently scored in 18th.

Quentin Gilbert continues to lead WRC 2 in the Citroen.
