Kronos Racing to enter three Xsara WRCs for 'Monte Carlo'

Following an agreement made with Citroen Sport - official since the 4th of November - Kronos Racing has entered a team as 'Manufacturers 1' in the FIA WRC under the name 'Kronos Total Citroen World Rally Team'.

The Kronos Total Citroen World Rally Team will enter two Xsara WRCs in the forthcoming 'Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo'. The Xsara number one will be driven by two- times World Champions, Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena. The team-mates will also represent the nominated crew for the totality of the season. The young Spanish driver, Xavier Pons and his co-driver Carlos Del Barrio will be the second nominated crew for Monte Carlo Rally. The Spaniard will drive the Xsara WRC number two. As the regulations require, both cars will follow the 2006 technical specifications which are more restrictive.

Like in 2005, and in addition to these two cars, Kronos Racing continues to offer some Xsara WRCs to rent. One of these cars will take the start of the Monaco-based-round. It will be rented by Daniel Sordo and his usual co- driver Marc Marti.

Carlos Sainz, the RACC Automovil Club, its sporting director Aman Barfull, and other Spanish supports have joined their efforts to allow the FIA Junior World Champion to make his debut behind the wheel of a World Rally Car. Unlike the other two cars following the 'Manufacturers 1' regulations, this Xsara will be authorised to keep the 2005 technical definition.

"With three Xsara WRCs at the start of the Monte Carlo, I think we can be very happy. This also really boosts up our enthusiasm and our motivation," explains Marc Van Dalen, Kronos Racing director. "In the coming weeks, we will finetune every detail to offer our three crews the best cars possible for a great start of the season."
