“This had been a problem free rally for us which seems to be paying off quite well. I am very happy with the position we are in at the moment. Ok, there is still a very long day to go tomorrow and anything can happen, but I feel like we were in control today with no big risks and no big dramas.

“I’m happy with the day and hopefully we can do the same tomorrow.”

Martin Prokop, Ford Fiesta RS WRC (6th)

“The last few stages were not so good because we made the wrong tyre choice. We went with soft tyres and we lost grip almost immediately. We lost the chance to fight with Nasser [Al-Attiyah] as a result which was really disappointing. But ok, tomorrow is still on, but I don’t want to risk this position which would be a very good result for us.”

Jari Ketomaa, Ford Fiesta RS WRC (10th)

“This afternoon was very bad. We lost the rear break-disc completely from the car so we didn’t have any brakes for the last two stages. Tomorrow we will just try to get a good rhythm and enjoy the rally.”

Daniel Oliveira, Brazil World Rally Team, Ford Fiesta RS WRC (14th)

“Today was ok. We damaged the front suspension but we got to the end of the day so that is ok. For tomorrow, if we can get into the top 15 I think that would be a great result for our first event in the car.”

Yazeed Al Rajhi, Ford Fiesta RRC (15th)

“The stages have been nice but we made the wrong choice with the soft tyre. I tried to slow down to make sure we had no punctures. Tomorrow I will take it very cautiously and make sure we finish the rally in this strong position.”

Maciek Oleksowicz, Ford Fiesta S2000 (19th)

“Today has been good. It was dry, which we were not expecting, so we made the wrong choice with the soft tyres. We made one small mistake when we became stuck on the side of the road on SS13 and losing about 30 seconds. But during the rally the car has been working well and we will go with harder springs if it is going to be dry again tomorrow.”
