Rally Ireland 'Sporting Advisor' Announced

The FIA, the sport's governing body, have announced that Charles Reynolds has been nominated as the 'FIA Sporting Advisor' for Rally Ireland 2006. Reynolds, who held the position of FIA WRC co-ordinator up until the end of 2005, will visit Dublin next week to assess the progress being made in preparation for the March WRC qualification rally.

The job of FIA Sporting Advisor will also include visiting the rally in March and ensuring that all elements of the event are up to the relevant FIA and World Rally Championship standards.

Reynolds will meet with top Rally Ireland officials in Dublin next Tuesday, and will then return for the rally, which will run on March 10th -- 12th, with Rally HQ in the Clarion Hotel Sligo, and the Service Park in Enniskillen Airport.

Commenting on the announcement, Motorsport Ireland's executive manager, Alex Sinclair said, 'we're really looking forward to welcoming Charles to Ireland next week. It will give us a great opportunity to demonstrate what we have achieved in the last number of months to raise Rally Ireland up to WRC standards.'
