DTM star Mattias Ekstrom will be at Red Bull Skoda's disposal in the Rally World Championship once again
The Swede, who recently won the DTM race at Brands Hatch for Audi, will be at the wheel of a Fabia WRC at the OMV ADAC Rally in Germany.
The team's second car in Germany will be driven once again by Andreas Aigner (AUT) with co-driver Klaus Wicha (GER).
Red Bull Skoda is pleased to be able to announce the participation of Sweden's Mattias Ekstrom in the OMV ADAC Rally Germany, the next World Rally Championship event from August 10th to 13th, 2006.
Ekstrom already had a very successful run for the team in Sweden. The 2004 DTM champion was among the world elite in an excellent fifth position on the final day before a mistake just short of the finish line ended his brilliant performance in the Fabia WRC.
This second rally assignment of the tarmac specialist was made possible in particular by Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, who gave the winner of the last DTM race at Brands Hatch the necessary clearance between the DTM races at the Norisring (July 23rd) and the Nurburgring (August 20th).
The second Fabia WRC will be driven by Red Bull youngster Andreas Aigner.
Starting with the WRC event in Cyprus (September 21st to 24th), Finnish gravel expert Harri Rovanpera will retake his place in the cockpit and, following a test immediately after the WRC event in Germany, contest the remaining rallies for the team, together with Aigner.
