Wahlie Hires Dollansky to Race With World of Outlaws By Richard Day LIMA, OH (July 23) - Jim Wahlie has hired Craig Dollansky to drive his #1W Conn West Maxim in the wake of Danny Lasoski's departure from the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series team. Lasoski announced his intentions to leave the team during the World of Outlaws' Eldora Clash and Kings Royal last weekend before both parties made the final decision Wednesday. "We're taking this week to regroup and we're going to be in (Ransomville) New York Monday with Craig," Wahlie said. "Craig has been after us for a few of months when he started hearing that Danny might leave us. "Craig doesn't have Danny's kind of experience, but he's been wanting to be a part of our team for quite a while. He likes what we portray and he wants to be that kind of a person." Lasoski, winner of seven Knoxville Raceway championships, joined the team when Wahlie decided to join the World of Outlaws on a full-time basis during the off-season. He recorded 29 top-10 finishes, including eight in the top five, and ranked eighth in the driver point standings through the series' first 45 events this year. Lasoski was unavailable for comment. Dollansky, a regular in Knoxville's weekly racing program for several years, finished third in the Amoco Knoxville Nationals last August. The World of Outlaws was scheduled to run a $40,000 event at Knoxville Raceway Wednesday. WoO
