Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: Thunderbowl Raceway

WHAT

* The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will make their first trip of the 2008 season to the West Coast this weekend for two full nights of racing on the high-banked Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California on Friday, February 22 and Saturday February 23. Last season, two-time defending series champion Donny Schatz, Joey Saldana and Tim Kaeding all picked up wins at the 1/3-mile, with all three of those drivers scheduled to be in action again this weekend. In seven A-Feature events for the series at Thunderbowl Raceway dating back to 2003, seven different drivers have earned A-Feature wins.

After a rainout last Saturday night, Craig Dollansky remains on top of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series standings by 10 markers over Jason Meyers, who calls Thunderbowl Raceway his home track. Donny Schatz is third, with Joey Saldana fourth and Terry McCarl fifth.

WHEN

* On Friday, February 22, the Pit Gates will be open all day, with pit passes going on sale at 3 p.m. PST, while the Grandstand Gates will open at 4 p.m. PST and Hot Laps are tentatively set for 6 p.m. PST.

* On Saturday, February 23, the Pit Gates will be open all day, with pit passes going on sale at 3 p.m. PST, while the Grandstand Gates will open at 4 p.m. PST and Hot Laps are tentatively set for 6 p.m. PST.

WHERE

* Thunderbowl Raceway is located in Tulare, California. Travel West of SR 99 on SR 137, then 0.5 miles South on K Street, then East (Located at the fairgrounds).
