Quote Log.

Lasoski on regaining the point lead:

"It's been tight between me and Steve (Kinser) all year, and two flat tires in two straight races last week didn't help our cause any. But we're right there, and we plan on getting ahead of him again. It's going to be a tough race for this championship. Steve's won 17 of these things so he obviously knows what he's doing, but we know what we're doing too. We won in 2001, and if I hadn't gotten hurt last year we would've challenged for another championship. But last year's gone and we're here now. The championship is what we want, but this season still has a long way to go. We've got a bunch of races left and we're going to focus on them one at a time. You win races, run up front, and the points take care of themselves. That's what we're out to do."

Team Owner Tony Stewart on Lasoski regaining the point lead:

"Danny and the team have been battling Steve (Kinser) all year. With the Outlaws running so many races, you're bound to have some bad luck. But because they run so many races, you have more opportunities to get back races you lost due to bad luck. They're running hard and taking everything race by race. That's all you can do. We've all won championships before, and we've won them by winning and racing up front. You win races and stay up front consistently and you get the most points - it's that simple. We'll put the bad luck behind us and focus on winning races."
