Kraig Kinser and the No. 20 Bass Pro Shops/J.D. Byrider/Maxim finished 13th in the World of Outlaws (WoO) race at Eagle (Neb.) Raceway on Saturday night.
Donny Schatz and the No. 15 Armor All/ParkerStore/J&J team battled mechanical woes most of Saturday evening at the WoO race at Eagle and ended the night with a 19th-place finish.
Schatz continues to lead the WoO Sprint Series season championship standings, holding a 44-point advantage. Kinser's stacks up ninth in the standings.
TSR's WoO Sprint Series teams will begin a busy week of action on Wednesday night with a race at 34 Raceway, in Burlington, Iowa. This weekend, they compete in a pair of single-night programs, first on Saturday night at Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, Wisc., and then Sunday night, when they compete at Cedar Lake Speedway in Somerset, Wisc.
POST-RACE QUOTES & NOTES:
Donny Schatz, driver of the No. 15 Armor All/Chevy/ParkerStore/J&J for TSR:
"You never want to have nights like we did this weekend. I guess if you are going to have them, having it now is better than some of the other races that we have coming up. When you lose a race to rain and then come back and have a DNF the next night, that doesn't sit well.
"It just seemed one thing after another happened to us on Saturday night. We had a problem before qualifying and that set us back to start the night. We nearly went from being a zero to a hero in the heat race but came up a bit short. We knew, coming from that deep of a starting spot in the feature, that we had get going early. The Armor All car was working well and I felt like I could get up there in contention. But then, after only about a dozen laps, we lost the motor and our night was done.
"We'll get back at it quickly by putting this one behind us. You have to do that in this sport - have a short memory. We've got three races this week and our goal is to get back to victory lane as soon as possible."
Kraig Kinser, driver of the No. 20 Bass Pro Shops/Chevy/J.D. Byrider/Maxim for TSR:
"We were looking forward to keeping our podium streak going this weekend, but unfortunately things didn't go as planned. You can never control the weather, but we were hoping to get a both nights of racing in.
"We didn't get to race Friday because of the rain, but on Saturday night, things started off well. The Bass Pro Shops car was fast and we were able to qualify in the top-five again. In the heat race, we just couldn't go forward and ended up starting the feature in the sixth row. The track was pretty fast throughout the race and we weren't able to make a move toward the front.
"The good thing is that we come back this week with three races, and I know the TSR guys (Mike Cool, Steve Swenson, and Bob Curtis) will be ready to get back at it."
