FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 16, 2000) - Brisk ticket sales have prompted officials at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track to order 3,000 temporary seats in anticipation of the crowds for the March 30-31 Southern Bleacher Classic for Pennzoil World of Outlaws sprint cars.

The temporary addition will raise the seating to 16,007 for the inaugural Southern Bleacher Classic.

The bleachers will be located outside of turn four, adjacent to the frontstretch grandstand. All of the grandstand facilities will be accessible to fans sitting in the bleachers.

"The rapid pace of advance ticket sales indicated that our current grandstand would not provide fans with enough seats for the Southern Bleacher Classic," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "With the additional seats, we will have crowds comparable to a sold-out Reunion Arena in attendance for each Southern Bleacher Classic program.

"We have many special surprises on tap for both evenings," continued Gossage. "The Southern Bleacher Classic is going to be a lot of fun for the fans."

Pennzoil World of Outlaws point leader Jac Haudenschild leads sprint car stars Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Danny Lasoski and Mark Kinser in the battle for the $20,000 top prize. The largest field of cars for the 2000 Pennzoil World of Outlaws season is expected to enter the Southern Bleacher Classic.

Tickets are available daily at the speedway ticket office, at the ticket hotline of (817) 215-8500, at TicketMaster locations and online at www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
