Shane Stewart Back in WoO Top Ten
From Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (May 26, 2005) -- As the World of Outlaws Sprint Series picks up steam with ten races over a 16-day stretch, leading Rookie of the Year candidate Shane Stewart broke back into the top ten in points over this past weekend.
Piloting the Wesmar-powered Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports No. 26 Snap-on Maxim, this past weekend got off to a precarious start when Shane went for a tumble in hot laps Friday night at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA.
After quick repairs by co-crew chiefs Eric Manfrass and Bob Curtis, Shane bounced back in short order and timed in twelfth aboard the HRP Wings/Schoenfeld Headers entry. Shane then advanced through his heat and gridded the feature twelfth after a sixth place Dash finish.
Shane turned in a strong passing performance in the main event, moving all the way up to sixth in the XYZ Machining/Car & Fleet machine to break back into the top ten in points and move back atop the Rookie of the Year points chase as well.
Back the next night at Lernerville Speedway, Shane timed in eleventh and once again qualified for the main event through his heat race before settling for a 13th place finish in the feature aboard the Brodix/Banshee Graphics entry.
After two nights off, action resumed Tuesday night at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. After timing in just 24th among the 41 entries, Shane salvaged a 17th place finish in the A Main to keep the Rudeen Development entry tenth in points.
Next on the docket is a Thursday-Friday double at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA, with Maryland's Hagerstown Speedway next up on Saturday night. New York stops at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Monday and Rolling Wheels Raceway Park on Wednesday follow.
