Lapping the Field: Donny Schatz wrapped up his off-season tour in Australia in impressive fashion on Saturday night, winning for the third time in a four-day period at Brisbane International Speedway. The three-time and defending World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion lapped the entire field, including veteran Brent Kaeding who finished second and six-time World Series champion Brooke Tatnell, who was third in a 50-lap non-stop race to take home the $20,000 top prize in the World Series Sprintcars event. Dating back to last year, the North Dakota native has won now four times in a row at the track. Daryn Pittman also competed in the event and finished seventh to earn his 17th career Top-10 finish at Brisbane. Pittman remained in Australia to compete on Sunday night at Charlton Raceway in Toowoomba and picked up another Top-10.

Two in a row: Donny Schatz won his second consecutive race of the week at Brisbane International Raceway on Friday night with the World Series Sprintcars. The three-time and defending World of Outlaws champion set fast time and followed that up with a third-place finish in the first heat race and a win in the fifth heat race. It was his third consecutive win at Brisbane dating back to last year's World Series finale. Also in action on Friday night was Daryn Pittman.

On Top Down Under: Kerry Madsen picked up a win on Saturday night at Parramatta City Raceway in Australia, besting a very strong 42-car field. The 2007 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year began the night by turning the fourth fastest lap in time trials and followed that up with a second-place finish in the fourth heat race. The native of St. Mary's, NSW, Australia will remain Down Under for a couple of more weeks of action aboard the No. 55 machine for the VerMeer Motorsports team.

All Americans: Donny Schatz and Jason Meyers were both recognized on Saturday night during the 39th Annual American Auto Racing Writers & Broadcasters Association All-America Auto Racing Team Banquet in Ontario, California. For Schatz, it was the third consecutive season that he was named to the First Team in the "Short Track" category, while Meyers was a member of the Second Team in the "Short Track" category, in his first time on the ballot. Also recognized was Darrell Lanigan, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion, who earned an honorable mention in the "Short Track" category.
