Concord, NC-- January 7, 2009 -- Winning Down Under: Donny Schatz returned to Victory Lane on Wednesday night at Brisbane International Speedway in Australia, besting the World Series Sprintcars in an event which was postponed by rain back in November. It was Schatz's second consecutive victory at the track. He'll wrap up his Australian tour this weekend by competing in the final two rounds of the World Series season at Brisbane, which will pay $20,000 to the winner. The three-time defending World of Outlaws champion won that race last season. Also in action on Wednesday night was Daryn Pittman, who finished sixth aboard the Titan Racing machine. In 18 career starts at the track, the native of Owasso, Oklahoma has never finished lower than sixth.
Mini Gold Cup: Tickets for the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California March 13-14 for the World of Outlaws went on sale this week. For tickets call the track's business office at: 916-969-7484 during normal weekday business hours. Jason Meyers is the defending winner of the Mini Gold Cup and the event this season will be the first time the World of Outlaws have sanctioned it since 1992. Jac Haudenschild is the defending winner of the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway.
Return to Lawrenceburg: Tickets for the World of Outlaws return to Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana on June 5-6 will be on sale this weekend during the Cincinnati Cavalcade of Customs at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati at the Lawrenceburg Speedway booth. Two-day reserved tickets will be available for $60 at the Cavalcade of Customs for $60. Two- day tickets for the event will be available online for purchase beginning on January 15 for $66 and two-day tickets, the day of the race will be $70.
